For some reason the psychic load of tax season always wears on me. It shouldn’t, I just need to spend an afternoon with TurboTax and write the IRS a big check, but it does. There’s been a lot else going on in my life, though, so this year is getting me worse than most.
Anyway, last weekend my sweety was out of town, and this week her developmentally disabled brother is staying with us, so not only have I not had any “down time” at home, the weekend was filled with me frantically installing a removable stair rail so that he could stay in our downstairs room.
And I still have to finish the rocking horse before we go visit my nephew in April.
So despite the fact that I don’t have much lined up (aside from work, which is taking a lot of energy right now), I’m feeling rushed on everything.
Which conflicts rather heartily with a couple of pieces of purpleheart and some nice cherry and alder that I’ve got looking for an excuse…

breathe…
inhale…. exhale…
now let’s prioritize… probably better put your brother-in-law’s well-being first.
That staircase looks like it was mind-boggling and needed a ton of patience and expertise to install!! Wow.
Next project: finish the rocking horse because there is a deadline which precedes the deadline for the LJ table.
There.. we have those two things out of the way….. don’t you feel better now??
Sounds like you need to take some time to recharge your batteries and refocus. A little time now will give you lots of energy rather than running on half-full…
I’d come and help by holding wood, measuring tapes, and pencils if I could .. oh, and sweep the shop floor of course!

Debbie, the cool thing about my shop floor is that it’s also my living room: Pergo and a fairly nice wool rug from (I think) Afghanistan (could be one of those other ”...istan”s). Portable dust collection with a HEPA filter rocks! So sweeping the floor is the easy part.
Paul, thanks.
I’m doin’ okay, just need to breathe a bit and remember to take care of me. Time to go out and take a bike ride while the computer’s fan is whining loudly because I’ve got it working overtime…

I hear you Dan. I dropped off my tax stuff at the CPA on Friday. Now I am anxiously awaiting to hear their verdict on my book keeping, my expenses, and how much I may owe (or hopefully get back) this year. At the same time, I have to keep in mind what to do for this tax season.
Yes, just relax and breathe for a moment. Remember, life goes on no matter what.
