It’s good to find a forum of woodworkers online. I’ve just recently gotten back into it. I lost most of my good old tools in a divorce about 12 years ago and am now remarried and finally have another house with a garage that’s perfect for a workshop. I build a couple rooms and a bathroom in my basement, which made my attached garage a mess of storage, still is a little crowded, but things are coming along nicely. Finally I have a place to keep my tools where I can find them.
In rebuying all my tools, I realized just how much they’ve changed over the years. They seem pretty cheap now, but not inexpensive. I have my table saws, and miter saws with stands, router and table, and almost all the smaller hand tools, but I’m still up in the air about a planer joiner. I have a hand planer on order from Porter Cable but I need a joiner planer for the shop. I can’t seem to find one that is affordable and reliable. My price point is 300 -500 if anyone has any suggestions. I’d appreciate it.

Welcome aboard. Nice that you could join us on Lumberjocks.
Regarding your question, please try posting it in one of the forums. You will get more responses there. Simply click on forums at the top of this page, then click on show all forums. There is a power tool forum that would work great. Good luck !
