2764 posts in 1181 days Location: Rochester, NY Born in 1960, been married for nearly 30 years to a lovely lady. We have 6 kids ages 12,14,16,21,22, & 25....all still living at home. I've been employed by Eastman Kodak for 31 years, and am currently a lab technician...yes we still make silver halide film right here in Rochester Whatever was once made in China has actually come back here in the USA!....so please buy American film or go see a movie! I've been woodworking since 2001. My shop is about 1/3 of a two car garage, and is shared by too many bicycles, sleds, scooters, outdoor toys, and garden tools, etc. It's uninsulated and difficult to work in during our long cold winters, so I tend to do mostly "cyber woodworking" during the winter months. I gained a fascination with saw blades early on in my wwing endeavors, and have pursued using, collecting, and testing them as sort of a "hobby within a hobby"....to date I've probably tried in the range of 60 different 10" blades. I've also started using and learning about hand planes, and now have a modest collection of those too. Most of my projects are furniture for around the house, along with occasional items for friends and family. I gravitate toward the Mission/Arts & Crafts style but tend to go my own way just using elements of those styles that I like. Much of my wood is salvaged or given to me. I've been fortunate to have purchased surprisingly little wood over the years. A deviation from furniture was an electric guitar in 2007 for my now 21 YO son. Since I don't play, it was the most challenging thing I've tackled to date, but also the most rewarding. I followed it with a 2nd guitar for my 25 YO son in 2010.
